A Taylor grassroots organization is not giving up on its quest to have data centers regulated in the city.

The Halt Taylor Data Centers Coalition filed a Writ of Mandamus against the city Friday in response to City Council's refusal to take action on a resident-backed petition during the July 9 council meeting.

The group conducted a press conference and information session Saturday morning at Fannie Robinson Park, 1009 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. "We filed a Writ Mandamus, so we're going to have City Council do their job and either take action on the petition and put it on the ballot or accept it wholesale into the Land Development Code," said Carrie D'Anna of Halt Taylor.
