Portillo's hot dog chain to break ground in New Braunfels later this year

Chicago-based Portillo's hot dog restaurant will open a new location in New Braunfels with construction beginning November 2 and completion expected by May 3, 2027.

Chicago-based hot dog joint Portillos will be opening a New Braunfels location in 2027, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

The restaurant will be located in Creekside at 2807 Sophie Lane.

Construction on the 4,987-square foot building will begin Nov. 2 and will be completed by May 3, 2027, according to the filing.
