HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) - A student is in custody after allegedly bringing a gun to Brownsville Early College High School, the district announced Wednesday afternoon.

The district said the campus was immediately placed on lockdown as a safety precaution.

The Brownsville Police Department is investigating the incident.
