Due to continued rising water levels on the Pedernales River, the City of Fredericksburg has announced the closure of State Highway 16 South.

Residents and visitors are strongly urged to avoid all travel unless it is an emergency.

Flood conditions can change rapidly, and roadways that appear passable may be unsafe.
