COPPERAS COVE, Texas (KWTX) - The City of Copperas Cove has issued a local disaster declaration as it continues to deal with the fallout from a water main break that caused a system-wide loss of pressure, according to city officials.
City officials said water storage levels have not recovered as quickly as expected, and they are urging all water customers, both residential and commercial, to limit water use and delay any nonessential water use to give the system time to recharge.
The city remains under Stage 4C water restrictions, officials said, and residents and businesses are being asked to strictly follow those restrictions and conserve as much water as possible while crews work to restore the system.
