Coming off their most complete performance of the season - a 38-7 homecoming triumph over Gatesville for their first District 13-4A Division II win - the Brownwood Lions can secure their 18th consecutive postseason trip with a Friday victory over the winless Waco Connally Cadets, coupled with a Salado win over Gatesville.

Kickoff between the Lions (3-5, 1-2) and Connally (0-8, 0-3) is slated for 7 p.m. at Mac Peoples Stadium.

If Brownwood is victorious and Salado (3-5, 1-2) tops Gatesville (4-4, 1-2), that would set up a Week 11 battle at Gordon Wood Stadium between the Lions and the Eagles for the third and fourth playoff seeds from 13-4A Division II. However, if Gatesville defeats Salado, both teams - as well as the Lions - will still be alive in the playoff race heading into the final Friday of the season.
