(KGNS) - Two United ISD high school bands earned recognition at the Bands of America Championship over the weekend, with John B. Alexander High School winning first place and United High School also placing among the competition's top ranks.

The competition took place at Veterans Memorial Stadium in McAllen.

Alexander High became back-to-back champions, while United High earned third in Class 4A.
