LAREDO, Texas - An off-duty Border Patrol agent faces several charges, including murder, after authorities said his wife was fatally stabbed in South Laredo.

Abel Garza, 30, is accused of fatally stabbing Mayra Landeros, 28.

Garza asked neighbors for help early Wednesday when officers stopped a car leaving the area, Laredo Police Chief Miguel Rodriguez told KGNS.
