VAN ALSTYNE, Texas (KXII) - The Van Alstyne Public Library reopened Saturday after eight months of renovations, unveiling a children's zone, large meeting and study rooms, and expanded internet access.

Library Director Judy Kimzey said the upgrades were driven by the city's continued growth and the expectations of new residents."Ten years ago, it was like, 'I'm so surprised Van Alstyne has such a nice library,'" she said, "but these folks come with those expectations."Kimzey secured grants to fund the project, including new furniture like shelving from the McKinney Public Library."So many people worked so hard to make this library what it is," she said.
