MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) - The City of Midland Health Services has confirmed the first detection of West Nile virus in Midland County this year.
This was confirmed after mosquitoes collected in local traps tested positive for the virus.
According to Midland Health Services, mosquito traps are placed throughout the county and samples are sent to the Texas Department of State Health Services laboratory for testing.
