Mead Middle School was temporarily placed on secure status Thursday after a report of a person in the neighborhood displaying a weapon, according to Aldine ISD.

The Aldine ISD Police Department responded to the area and confirmed the individual had a firearm, the district said.

The secure status has since been lifted.
