ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) - Odessa Fire Rescue announced the death of firefighter/paramedic Eric Handlin, who died at around 8:15 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4. Firefighter odessa(Odessa Fire Rescue)Handlin had completed 25 years of service with Odessa Fire Rescue on July 2. He was 53."Eric dedicated a significant part of his life to serving OFR and the Odessa community," the department said in a news release.

"His loss is deeply felt by his family, friends, current members, and our retired OFR family."Services are being planned.

Details are expected to be announced over the next few days as arrangements are finalized.
