AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - A woman who was accused of attempting to smother child has pled guilty to a lesser charge of injury to a child with intent to cause bodily injury.

According to Randall County court records, on June 30 Sarah Zepp pled guilty to injury of a child with the intent to cause bodily injury after attempting to suffocate her child during a mental health crisis.

A Randall County judge sentenced Zepp to five years of deferred, supervised probation and a $2,000 fine.
