Carthage man accused of pointing gun at neighbor who shot his dog

PANOLA COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - A Carthage man is behind bars following a heated exchange between neighbors that began with the death of a puppy, according to court records.

On Aug. 27, Panola County deputies were called to the 100 block of Private Road 5213 in Panola County, after a woman reported an animal complaint.

The woman told deputies that her niece's two pit bull puppies had gone into a neighbor's pasture and that the neighbor shot one of the dogs in the head, according to an affidavit from the Panola County Sheriff's Office.
