Now, thousands are using theirs to volunteer with Loose Ends, a global nonprofit crafting network, that finishes projects left behind when someone dies or gets too sick to complete them.
National Correspondent Debra Alfarone found out they're not just tying up loose ends, they're helping mend broken hearts, and stitching together new connections.
