HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - Firefighters with the Little York Fire Department responded to a sidewalk near Heritage Elementary School after reports that a puppy was stuck underground.

Crews quickly rescued the puppy, but then discovered additional puppies under the sidewalk.

Two officers with Harris County Pets joined the effort, digging for nearly two hours to get to the second puppy, which was safely rescued.
