Provided by Wayland Baptist UniversityPLAINVIEW, TX (NEWS RELEASE) - Jarrett Lynch and Jazmin Ortega, both representing the School of Creative Arts, were crowned Wayland Baptist University's 2026 Homecoming king and queen during the Homecoming football game Saturday, Oct. 24.

Lynch is a junior Piano Performance major from Lubbock, and Ortega is a senior Choral Music Education major from Odessa.

Their coronation highlighted a week of festivities marking Wayland's return to a fall Homecoming celebration."Homecoming brings together the students who are shaping Wayland today and the alumni whose service continues to make us proud," said Jeffrey Vera, Director of Alumni Relations and Career Services.
