The family behind Ricos Products Co., a stalwart in the San Antonio business community, has sold the company.

Venezuela conglomerate Empresas Polar announced Friday its acquisition of the Alamo City snack-maker for an undisclosed amount.

The deal gives the Latin American company more of a foothold in the United States.
