A woman was killed in a crash late Saturday night along the Eastex Freeway in Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.

Investigators said the collision happened around 8:54 p.m. near 14835 Eastex Fwy.

Preliminary information indicates the driver of a vehicle was leaving the freeway's main lanes to reach the frontage road when the vehicle hit the woman, who was in an active lane of traffic.
