AUSTIN, Texas - An Austin mother was convicted by a Travis County jury of one count of injury to a child causing bodily injury and one count of injury to a child causing serious bodily injury, the Travis County District Attorney's Office announced Friday.
The conviction stems from a March 2024 incident in which Brittney Bailey's 3-month-old daughter was found not breathing at a Central Austin apartment complex.
Austin police said the infant was taken to a hospital, where she died five days later.
