BREWSTER COUNTY, Texas (KOSA) - The DPS trooper who was seriously injured in a head-on crash near Alpine on Tuesday has been identified.

According to the Brewster County Sheriff's Office, Trooper Zach Vasquez is currently receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the crash.

DPS said a K-9 riding in the patrol vehicle at the time of the crash was not injured.
