LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - The City of Lufkin is taking action to restore Jones Lake, draining and dredging the popular park landmark after years of silt buildup left the water too shallow to sustain itself.

The city will not fully drain the lake, deep areas with clear water will remain, keeping fish in place while workers clear the shallow shoreline.
