NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - A local arts nonprofit is working to ensure a child's financial situation does not determine whether they can participate in art and theater education.

The Nacogdoches Arts Collaborative hosts art and theater camps each summer for children of all ages.

Over the years, Executive Director CC Cortez said she noticed students were dropping out because they could not afford the cost."A lot of people can't afford that little extra that it takes to attend camp, and I need those kids to be able to enjoy that as well," Cortez said.
