Two separate shooting incidents in southwest Houston have left authorities investigating active cases with minimal arrests as of late Monday.

The first incident occurred at an apartment complex located along South Gessner Drive near Jason Street, situated south of Interstate 59. Houston Police Department officials confirmed a man was fatally shot during what investigators described as an armed robbery. A companion of the deceased was assaulted during the confrontation and subsequently transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the altercation.

In an unrelated case from late Saturday evening, violence erupted near a restaurant situated at the intersection of Beechnut Street and Corporate Drive. Approximately 11:30 p.m., a disturbance developed when two patrons—a man and his relative—became intoxicated while inside the establishment. Staff members and ownership requested the individuals vacate the premises following their conduct.

After leaving the restaurant, the suspect allegedly returned to retrieve a firearm from his vehicle and opened fire toward the business. A man in his 30s standing outside with another person sustained gunshot wounds to his torso and leg. Police stated the victim appeared to have been struck indiscriminately rather than deliberately targeted. The injured man was transported to a medical facility where he was expected to recover.

Investigators identified the suspected shooter, believed to be approximately 50 years old, but had not made an arrest by the time of reporting. The Houston Police Department continues working the case as authorities search for additional details and evidence.

In both incidents, no arrests had been made, and police investigations remained ongoing.
