A Memphis woman's child abuse and neglect charges were dismissed this week after she fulfilled all requirements imposed by the court, authorities announced. The case centered on images that surfaced two years ago showing the woman's young child involved in an adult business operation.

The incident originated when authorities discovered photographs uploaded to a social media account in February 2024. The images, posted to promote a waxing business, depicted a 5-year-old performing hair removal services on adult clients. According to investigators, approximately three photos showed the child applying hot wax to unclothed areas of adult customers' bodies.

Jasmine Moss, 33, faced allegations of child abuse and neglect stemming from the social media posts. The case proceeded through Shelby County's court system after law enforcement launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the photographs and their distribution on the internet platform.

The Shelby County District Attorney's Office determined that dismissal was warranted after Moss demonstrated sustained compliance with court-mandated conditions. Over more than two years, the defendant completed community service hours, attended therapeutic counseling sessions, and participated in parenting education classes. She also maintained a clean record without incurring additional criminal charges during the designated period.

Moss acknowledged her lapse in judgment throughout the legal proceedings. Through her attorney, Blake Ballin, she expressed gratitude that the prosecution recognized the value of rehabilitation and second chances. Ballin stated that his client had invested considerable effort into self-improvement through the counseling and service work required by the court.

The dismissal represents a conclusion to legal proceedings that began with the 2024 discovery of the problematic images on the social media platform used to market the business.
