Man dies after getting trapped in conveyor belt at work

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. [KTRE]
A workplace accident in South Florida turned fatal Friday when a worker became entrapped in industrial equipment while attempting repairs.
Emergency responders from Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue arrived at the Deerfield Beach facility after receiving notification of an occupational incident involving machinery. The worker had been working to resolve a mechanical problem with a large manufacturing apparatus when he became caught beneath the bucket arm section of a conveyor system.
Rescue personnel were unable to save the victim. He was declared deceased at the scene before medical personnel could transport him to a hospital.
The specific cause of the malfunction that prompted the worker to approach the equipment has not been detailed by authorities. Investigators have not released the worker's name pending family notification.
