Weapon recovered at Brownsville elementary school

A weapon was recovered at Aiken Elementary School in Brownsville, and the campus was secured with no ongoing threat reported.

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) - Aiken Elementary School in Brownsville is "safe and secure" after a weapon was found on campus on Wednesday, according to Isabel A. De La Cruz, a spokesperson for the Brownsville Independent School District.

De La Cruz did not disclose the type of weapon that was recovered.
