Lake Austin to be lowered 10 feet this fall after hydrilla debate

Lake Austin will be lowered 10 feet starting October 12 through the end of November to address an invasive hydrilla infestation following pressure from property owners and businesses.

Lake Austin will be drawn down about 10 feet this fall after property owners and businesses pushed for action amid a resurgence of invasive hydrilla.

The lake's water level will begin dropping Oct. 12 and return to normal by the end of November.
