A brand of kale and veggie chips were recalled due to the products potentially containing thallium.
Thallium is a metal found in the soil and in sulfur-based minerals.
Food and Drug Administration officials explain in recall notice that acute or chronic exposure to high levels of thallium might result in severe adverse health effects, including gastroenteritis, damage to peripheral nerves, and alopecia.
