The Ambleside High School cross country team competed at the Llano Steve Golemon Cross Country Meet on Sept. 23 at Llano High School.

"Ambleside fielded a small team at this meet, with illness and a school travel event taking place," Ambleside Cross Country Coach Annette Lukacs said.

"Two junior varsity girls and one junior varsity boy competed for Ambleside. There were numerous UIL 5A and 6A schools competing at the meet, which provided some tough competition." David Hailey placed 33rd out of 44 runners with a time of 25:58. Lillian York of the girls' team placed 23rd out of 36 runners with a time of 18:11. Caroline Coy came in 35th with a time of 19:44. Up next Ambleside's last meet before State will be at Mason on Wednesday, Oct. 7.
