Authorities are investigating after a child under the age of 5 was found unresponsive Thursday night in Spring, prompting detectives to investigate the family's home for possible foul play.

According to the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office, the incident began around 8:20 p.m. when the child's parents drove to an Exxon gas station at 25819 Cypresswood Drive, where deputies were already on scene.

Officials said the child was unconscious and not breathing when the family arrived.
