(KXII) - The Bryan County Sheriff's Office is warning residents about scam calls targeting family and friends of inmates in the county jail.

The sheriff's office said they will never call or text asking for payment for an ankle monitor for somebody in the jail.

They remind residents to never provide any financial information or make payments, hang up and report the calls as spam.
