TEXOMA (KXII) - August is clear the shelters month, and two Texoma cities are waiving pet adoption fees to help their four-legged friends find their forever homes.
This week the Sherman Animal Shelter announced free pet adoptions for the rest of the month, and the Durant Animal Shelter is waiving adoption fees into October."It's important because these shelter animals deserve a loving home, and for everyone of them that find a home, it just opens the door here at the shelter for the next animal that comes through their doors," said Sgt. Brandon Hughes with the Sherman Police Department."It's been extremely successful thus far," said City of Durant Spokeswoman Madison McKown.
"We had four adoptions just this week, and one of them was our longest resident, which I'm so excited for. She's the sweetest dog and she finally got a loving home."To learn more about the Durant event click here, and click here to find adoption application forms.
