(KGNS) - A free arborist training program is launching in September, and eight Laredo ISD schools will add trees and plants over the next three years.

Ena Vega is one of several people who recently signed up for the free arborist training certification."If you already have a vision that you want to make Laredo better, conserve its nature, you need to learn about the local nature," Vega said."I want to learn more about our local fauna and flora. And I do think that it's important to learn about it in order to really be successful in bringing, you know, the Laredo environment forward," Vega said.
