(KXII) - A longtime member of the Ardmore police force has been named interim chief.

Claude Henry is now running the Ardmore Police Department after more than 20 years of experience with the department."The community support has been overwhelming," Henry said.

Born and raised in Ardmore, Henry says he wanted to be an officer since he was a young boy."Anytime we were able to go to the Christmas parades, I always noticed a lot of police officers around. As a child growing up it was always impactful for me to see police officers and see them be in that superhero role," Henry said.
