SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) - Democrats won the U.S. Senate and governor races in Texas on Tuesday night, and Texas voters are sharing mixed opinions about the midterm election results.
James Talarico became the first Democrat Texas voters have elected to the U.S. Senate since 1988. Gina Hinojosa will be the first Democrat and woman governor in Texas since Ann Richards left office in 1994. Democrats also won other statewide offices.
The shift was not reflected across the entire state.
