Unincorporated areas of Atascosa County will see a temporary reprieve from burn ban restrictions this weekend following recent rainfall across the region.

The Atascosa County Fire Marshal's Office and Office of Emergency Management announced Friday that the burn ban-originally enacted in August-will be lifted starting Friday, Oct. 2, through Sunday, Oct. 4.

While outdoor burning is temporarily allowed through Sunday evening, local officials emphasized that residents must still exercise caution and adhere strictly to open burning regulations mandated by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
