WACO, Texas (KWTX) - The Waco City Council took several key steps tonight to advance major residential and commercial developments along the Brazos River, signaling a continued multi-million-dollar push to transform the city's waterfront.

The council approved a critical amendment to the downtown riverfront project and moved forward on plans for a massive new master-planned community.

The decisions come amid the city's ongoing $26 million redevelopment of the Waco Riverwalk, a linear pedestrian trail stretching on the west side of the Brazos River from the Union Pacific Railroad bridge to the Baylor University School of Law.
