A $7 million federal investment for a planned road connection from FM 3349 to Texas 95 south of Taylor will help address the county's expanding transportation needs, officials said.

The new connection will complete Corridor A2 between 3349 and 95 while improving safety, reducing congestion and strengthening east-west connectivity.

It will also provide an alternative route for freight traffic traveling on U.S. 79, administrators said.
