Atascosa County officials implemented a strict 90-day countywide burn ban Monday, restricting outdoor burning to lower wildfire risks across the community.

The decision, authorized Aug. 24 by the Atascosa County Commissioners Court, will remain in effect through Nov. 22.

Under the order, all open flames and open burning are prohibited.
