The Kerrville Schreiner Park, host to the annual Kerrville Mountain Bike Festival, which has taken place there for the past six years, is a well-known biker's haven.

Over 14 miles of trail weave throughout the space, including hills and valleys that give avid bikers a challenge and beginners a taste of what biking can feel like.

When Lisa Nye-Salladin, organizer of the festival and co-owner of Hill Country Bike Works, the festival's main sponsor, moved to Kerrville with her husband, Adam Salladin, in 1995, they were met with a very different picture.
