The Texas Department of Public Safety is urging drivers to remember to slow down, stay alert and stop for school buses as National School Bus Safety Week is recognized the week of Oct. 19-23.
School bus safety is a shared responsibility for drivers, parents, school personnel and communities, as millions of children ride school buses every day, according to a press release from DPS.
"Every child deserves to arrive at school and return home safely," stated Chief of the Texas Highway Patrol Bryan Rippee.
