LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) - The trial of a former gym owner convicted of sexually abusing a child entered its sentencing phase Friday after a Smith County grand jury found the man guilty.

Matthew David Orban, 53, was charged with sexual assault of a child for touching the child inappropriately while giving the child a massage.

His defense team requested community supervision or a low prison sentence, arguing Orban would not be able to fulfill his child support obligations without income in prison."His coaching days are over, his access to children is done. If the main concern is to protect society, to protect children, that's already been done. No matter what you do," defense attorney Rustin Bridges told the jury.
