(Gray News) - President Donald Trump fought to rally Texas voters behind Senate candidate Ken Paxton Wednesday night, but his remarks were not only focused on Paxton.

Speaking to a packed Freeman Coliseum, Trump clarified recent comments in which he talked about the possibility of Iran bombing American cities as part of a recurring riff about how high fuel costs are "a small price to pay" for the war."You want to see trauma? You want to see problems? Let them hit San Diego, let them hit Los Angeles," Trump said.

"We're not going to let that happen. We protect our cities. We protect our country."People at the rally cheered when the president clarified the controversial statements he made earlier in the week at a political rally in Nebraska.
