BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - The Salvation Army's Brazos County Corps says it will no longer use the Brazos Valley Food Bank to stock its food pantry after receiving a letter from the food bank about prayer and Christian music during food distributions.

The Brazos Valley Food Bank acknowledges that a food bank employee sent a letter to the Salvation Army, but says the letter incorrectly interpreted federal law and that they are working to correct the error.

"I received a letter this week from our partner that we use, our vendor, the food bank here in town, who says that we will no longer be allowed to be a part of their group if we continue to offer prayer to those in our community,"Major David P. Swyers, the Salvation Army's new commanding officer, said in a video released on Facebook.
