BELLMEAD, Texas (KWTX) - The Bellmead Police Department late Friday night was investigating a serious traffic accident involving a pedestrian.

Police said the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the 200 block of E. Loop 340."We are asking the public to avoid the area while investigators and emergency personnel remain on scene," police wrote in a social media post.

Police said this is an active investigation.
