WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Testimony is set to begin Tuesday morning in an alleged robbery case that resulted in the 2021 shooting death of a 21-year-old Waco man.

Brendon Le Osha Riggs, 25, is charged in 54th State District with first-degree felony aggravated robbery in a September 2021 incident that left Kaden Quinn Hitchcock dead at his residence in the 300 block of Wagon Wheel Circle.

Riggs, Jose A. Herrera and Kyle Eric Depolito all were charged with capital murder in the case before Herrera and Depolito were no-billed by a grand jury in January 2021. Riggs spent 619 days in the McLennan County Jail before former McLennan County District Attorney Barry Johnson dismissed the murder charge against him in November 2022, citing insufficient evidence at the time to proceed.
