MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) - A Midland ISD trustee says families should expect an update about the readiness of two elementary campuses as the first day of school approaches.

Matt Friez, the District 4 trustee, said in a Facebook post that he has concerns about whether both Sam Houston Elementary and South Elementary will be ready to welcome students on Tuesday.

Friez said the campuses have large student enrollments and that, based on his observations and information he has received, contractors appear to be behind schedule.
