Stacy Lynette Gunter, wanted by the Wilson County Sheriff's Office in connection with a hit-and-run incident on July 11 near La Vernia, has been taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service in Bexar County.

The sheriff's office had invited help from the public to locate Gunter, 52, after she allegedly struck a pedestrian intentionally with her Jeep Rubicon on Champions Boulevard and then fled the scene.

According to Wilson County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Deputy Skylar Dailey, Gunter was located earlier today in San Antonio and faces several charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony.
