A third grader at Roosevelt Dual Language Academy received a hero's welcome as her school community celebrated her return after a long battle with childhood cancer.

Students, teachers and staff gathered for a Falcon Victory Parade on Monday to honor Annie after she completed cancer treatment and returned to campus.

School leaders described the celebration as a symbol of courage, perseverance and hope.
